KLUNG
Gene Koshinski

Percussionist, Gene Koshinski (and friends) offer listeners first rate performances of a wide variety of works for marimba, solo percussion and also, chamber percussion music. His commissioned work, Klung by composer, David McBride, serves as the title track for Gene’s first solo CD. These compositions are already or rapidly on their way to becoming mainstream works in the percussion repertory. Piru Bole composed by Percussionist/Composer, John Bergamo (who is being recognized at the Percussive Arts Soceity International Convention in 2008) embraces a number of the concepts of North Indian drumming, while George Hamilton Green’s Frivolity, harkens back to the Golden Age of the Xylophone, while offering a fresh, crisp new arrangement by Gene for the solo xylophonist with marimba, piano, bass and trap set accompaniment.
