Alone or Together by Eugene Novotney is inspired by tap dancing and East-Indian drumming, playable by any number of people on any resonating objects. Obviously cleanliness can become an issue as you expand the piece to 6 or 7 unison players.
The music is notated in clear "strong hand vs. weak hand" style, requiring the player to hit their object with rebound strokes, dead strokes, on the rim or edge, as well as stick clicks. A drum (or drums) is the suggested medium, but you can play this on any resonating chamber.
The rhythms will push the limits of most high school percussionists.
