Penelope for Solo Vibraphone - 3'15 Min.; 4 Schlägel, mittelschwer, 3 Oktav-Vibraphon
Written as a lullaby to the composer's baby daughter, Penelope features a sweet, simple melody and brief harmonic/thematic departures. Penelope is dedicated to my beautiful baby daughter, born on May 9, 2016. Originally titled “Lullaby for PJ” and conceived as a duet for bells and vibraphone in the collection “Duology: 10 Duets for Young Percussionists,” the piece has been expanded to explore more chromatic harmonic progressions while still maintaining the beauty and simplicity of the original lullaby.
