ケルベロスとは、ギリシア神話に登場する地獄の番犬であり、３つの頭を持つと言われています。身体は１つで頭が３つ、という部分にヒントを得て、楽器をひとかたまりに並べて、その周りを３人が囲むように演奏するスタイルで作曲しました

ケルベロスは、３つの頭が交代で眠るとも言われており、この曲も(ごく短いG.P.を除き)休みなくリズムのかけ合いが続きますが、８分音符・16分音符と休符を組み合わせたとてもシンプルなリズムで全編が構成されています。ロールや複雑な装飾はもちろん、３連符さえも使っていません。また初心者でも取り組みやすいよう、一般的な打楽器を用いています。

多くの楽器を並べるため、チューニングがとても大切です。Snare Drumを除く８つの太鼓は、おおむね楽譜上の並び順に音高を調整します。(特にCongaがTomより低くならないように)Snare Drumは、Bongoより低くTomより高くなるように調整してください。

アンサンブルコンテストやコンサートでもお使いいただけますが、基礎練習で使われるパターンを盛り込んであるので、初級～中級者のパート練習の教材としても最適です。(３人でのユニゾン、２つ打ちの２打目にアクセントを付ける練習、アクセント移動、短いリズムのかけ合い等)

Cerberus is a dog that guards hell in Greek mythology, and is said to have three heads. Inspired by the fact that Cerberus has one body and three heads, I composed this piece in a style where the instruments are lined up in a group and three people surround it to play. It is said that Cerberus' three heads sleep in turns, and this piece also has a continuous exchange of rhythm (except for a very short G.P.), but the entire piece is composed of a very simple rhythm that combines eighth notes, sixteenth notes, and rests. There are no rolls or complex ornaments, and even triplets. In addition, common percussion instruments are used so that even beginners can easily tackle it. Since there are many instruments lined up, tuning is very important. The eight drums except for the snare drum should be adjusted in pitch roughly in the order of their arrangement on the score. (Especially make sure that the conga is not lower than the tom.) Adjust the snare drum so that it is lower than the bongo and higher than the tom. It can be used for ensemble contests and concerts, but since it includes patterns used in basic practice, it is also ideal as a teaching material for part practice for beginners to intermediate players.
