These arrangements are playable by any combination of mallet instruments (i.e.marimbas, vibraphones, xylophones, orchestra bells, etc.).  Players I/III and II/IV may each share an instruments, making the quartets playable on two instruments. They are also playable by other combinations of concert (or like-pitched) instruments.
