A challenging work for solo timpani and percussion, this is the fourth installment in a series of works for solo instruments by composer Price. Exploring the timbral relationship between timpani and non-pitched percussion, this engaging piece oscillates between bombastic martial rhythms and lightly improvised passages. Instrumentation: timpani (4), bass drum, bongos, woodblock, splash, crash and China cymbals, bamboo or wood wind chimes and maracas.
