Verwirrspiel (Confusion) für Trio - 7 Min.; Vibra, Marimba, Cajon, Cymbals; groovy piece, intermediate to advanced

Video

'Verwirrspiel' is a brilliant concert piece for marimba, vibraphone and cajon (+ various cymbals), and is ideal for competitions or auditions. It is energetic and full of rhythmic sophistication. Sometimes the rhythmic knot no longer seems to open. But in a furious end the resolution succeeds!
The perfectly coordinated, notated version can be seen on 'Youtube' and can be played directly without improvisation. If you dare, you can improvise the solo sections yourself.

David Friedman:
"It's so gratifying to hear a piece for marimba and vibraphone (and cajon, of course) that is written so well, so idiomatic for these two instruments. The combined voicings are well thought out and beautifully executed by the players. Well done!"

Tony Miceli:
"I agree with David. This was a lot of fun to listen too! Sounds hip and is written so well! I hope lots of people play this! It's fun and there's a lot to learn here!"
