Studie II: Epthyic explores the atypical sonic characteristics of the timpani. Just performed at PASIC 2007 in Columbus, OH by the composer. Missouri composer, Michael Bump’s new work focuses on the unusual sounds that kettledrums can produce. The solo part is integrated seamlessly into the quartet. The work has just been re-engraved with oversized parts that are easy to read.
