Le Duo... c’est sans doute la formation musicale la plus exigeante. Elle ne peut fonctionner sans une solidité instrumentale à toute épreuve et une connivence assurant une confiance mutuelle totale. L’amitié et la complicité donnent à Philippe LIMOGE et Damien PETITJEAN une sorte d’évidence à leur unité.
Forts d’une solide formation classique, ils se sont très vite retrouvés autour d’une idée commune : mélanger les styles, confronter les ambiances, retravailler le matériau musical comme un sculpteur travaille la terre.

“Acousticks” est un élégant rapprochement entre les deux principaux instruments à claviers de percussion. Le vibraphone et le marimba dialoguent librement dans un programme dédié aux transcriptions d’œuvres pour piano. De Ravel à Debussy, la musique française est à l’honneur. De Bach à Gershwin, nos deux artistes se mettent en quatre pour dix doigts...

Duos are undoubtedly the most demanding of musical ensembles. A duo won’t work without an unfailing instrumental basis, accompanied by a particular mutual awareness, allowing total confidence. Philippe LIMOGE and Damien PETITJEAN share that kind of friendship and complicity, and their work together resonates with natural evidence.
Both share a solid classical background, and soon found the terrain they wanted to explore: mixing styles, opposing ambiances, tackling musical material like a sculptor working clay.

“Acousticks” is an elegant association of two main ‘keyboard’ percussive instruments. Vibraphone and marimba converse freely in a programme based on piano pieces, featuring French music (Ravel, Debussy).
